The Inner Master

 

The inner Master:

Symbol of eternal Life!

The most powerful and gracious of all beings in the cosmos.

Some call Her the Father, Mother,

the Godhead, the Origin of all things.

Some call it the Way, others romantically describe Her as the beautiful Bride, the Beloved.

Some say it’s your Real Face before yesterday, the Great Wisdom, the Perfect Path, Love.

Call Him, whatever name you like!

Frankly, He wouldn’t mind the least.

But no matter what it is,

One cannot live without.

And the longing to see Her is the most agony of all

Only those who tread the mystic Tao

Know the pain of it.

And once it is found,

One realizes that one has never known anything like this

The Way to enlightenment is through the Light and Sound

The Heaven is within — here and now!

 

 

내면의 스승:

영원한 생명의 상징이여!

우주의 모든 존재 가운데 가장 힘있고 자비로운 이여!

 

어떤 이들은 그녀를

하느님, 성모, 신성, 만물의 근원이라 부르고,

어떤 이들은 도, 아름다운 신부, 사랑하는 임이라

낭만적으로 묘사하고,

 

또 다른 이는 본래면목, 대지혜, 완전한 길,

사랑이라 부르네.

어떤 이름으로 부르든 그녀는 개의치 않는다네.

 

그러나 그 이름이 무엇이든 그녀 없이는 살 수 없어라.

그녀를 보고자 하는 갈망은 가장 큰 고통.

 

오직 신묘한 도의 길을 가는 사람만이

그 고통을 알 수 있으리.

그 길을 찾으면 예전엔 미처 몰랐던 것을 깨닫게 되리니.

 

깨달음에 이르는 길은 빛과 소리를 통해서라네.

 

천국은 바로 여기 우리 내면에 있다네.
